What do you do when the planet is at lock down? Babies, of course. Recent reports indicate that we are looking at an unusually big baby boom because of the corona virus. So, let us look at the most important thing of all right now: baby names. The Social Security Administration (SSA) runs statistics on personal names dating back to the 1800’s. The problem – if you will – is that all names are indexed by the gender on the birth certificate, which doesn’t really reflect how parents look at baby names these days. Therefore, the name site Nameberry has provided us with the most popular gender neutral names right now (at least in the US). Perhaps more interesting, some names seem to have shifted from “blue” (boys) to “pink” (girls), and vice versa. A good read if you are about to have kids, or if you are simply bored to death lying on the couch.
Did you know that Eqvarium also creates unique personal names and last names on demand? What do you call yourselves tomorrow?
